Driver for HMI software supports Ethernet communications

Updated communications driver supports a direct Ethernet connection to Allen-Bradley controllers.

An expanded Allen-Bradley Ethernet communications driver for Interact HMI software is now available from Parker Automation . Updated communications driver supports an Ethernet connection to the AB Logix family of controllers and an Ethernet-to-RS-232 connection to DF1 compatible controllers using AB EtherNet/IP 1761-NET-ENI module. It gives the ability to use the HMI software for Ethernet communications to a variety of controllers, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, FlexLogix, PLC5, SLC5, and MicroLogix.

New release offers increased performance and ability to exchange information using Native Tag Addressing for the Logix family of controllers. The process allows PLC tags to be pasted into Interact’s tag editor without complicated address mapping. Standard Ethernet communications offer machine builders and users simplified wiring, cost savings through the use of off-the-shelf products, ability to interact with multiple PLCs simultaneously, and faster communication.
