Franklin, MA— Dynisco LLC recently reported that it’s acquiring Viatran Corp. from Invensys plc . Viatran supplies pressure transducers and transmitters to the oil and gas, test stand, fluid power, and food and beverage industries. Terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed.

Dynisco LLC provides pressure instrumentation, extrusion auxiliary equipment, and polymer testing instruments to the plastics and rubber processing industries through its Dynisco In-struments, Dynisco Extrusion, Dynisco Polymer Test, and Alpha Technologies units. Dynisco Instruments manufactures pressure transducers to fluid power, test stand, and oil recovery appli-cations.

“The combination of Dynisco and Viatran results in a much larger and more comprehensive industrial pressure transducer and transmitter product offering,” says Larry Klumpp, Dynisco’s president and CEO. “Viatran has an excellent reputation in the industries it serves for quality, service and product innovation. When we look at combining Viatran with Dynisco Instruments, the result yields capabilities unique in the industry.

'In addition, we will now be able to deliver even more solutions to our customers in the industries we both serve, such as oil and gas, test stands, fluid power and sanitary clean in place pressure measurements for the food and beverage markets. Finally, Viatran has traditionally been focused on the North American market. Dynisco’s distribution channels in Europe, Asia and Latin America should result in a greater penetration of Viatran products on the world market.”

Using its partnership with Audax Group, an equity management firm, Dynisco also recently acquired Alpha Technologies. It and Viatran are expected to broaden Dynisco’s products and manufacturing capabilities.

Dynisco adds that it was the first company to design a transducer specifically used to measure the melt pressure of plastic during manufacturing. With this innovation it developed measurement and control devices for many plastics manufacturing processes. Dynisco has manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Germany, and now Malaysia, as a result of the Viatran acquisition.
