Embedded server software development kit is Embedded OPC server compliant

Version 2.0 of Matrikon OPC's Embedded Server Software Development Kit (SDK) has been certified to be compliant with the Embedded OPC Server profile and is configurable and scalable from microcontrollers to high-end embedded systems.

Courtesy: MatrikonOPCVersion 2.0 of MatrikonOPC's Embedded Server Software Development Kit (SDK) has been certified by the OPC Foundation's Independent test labs to be compliant with the Embedded OPC Server profile. Support was added for OPC UA security to the industry's smallest commercially available embedded OPC UA toolkit to achieve the certification. This allows product vendors the ability to provide  customers with networked products that deliver secure OPC UA connectivity out of the box.

This development kit is fully configurable and scalable from microcontrollers with 128 kB RAM up to high-end embedded systems based on ARM9, ARM Cortex-Ax and x86 based processors, such as the Intel Atom. The product can be optimized for minimum RAM and FLASH utilization or for large data sets and multiple concurrent client connections.

Other features include RAM-based address space that can be reconfigured on the fly. It also has single threaded ANSI C API implementation and is designed with a proprietary memory model, which means no heap-based memory allocation is used. In addition, the number of sessions, subscriptions, monitored items and address space nodes supported is solely dependent on the user's available target resources.
