High-level engineering: 3 engineers get a boost

Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions (TAOS)

has boosted three engineers into higher-level positions. Cecil Aswell has been promoted from vice president of engineering to chief technical officer (CTO), replacing former CTO, Dr. Gene Dierschke, who was promoted to chief scientist. The company hired semiconductor industry veteran Lloyd Hasley to fill Aswell’s shoes as vice president of engineering.

Hasley brings almost three decades of business and design management experience to his new position at TAOS. Since 1979, he has been involved in the design, development and marketing of semiconductor devices aimed at the telecom and / or networking industries. Dierschke and Aswell have more than 70 years combined experience in the analog and opto-sensing design arenas. In his new role as TAOS chief scientist, Dierschke will concentrate efforts on IC process development. As the new TAOS CTO, Aswell will use his experience to help develop new technologies that support the TAOS vision.

Established in 1998, TAOS develops, manufacturers, and markets integrated optoelectronic products that combine precision mixed-signal functionality and photo-detectors on the same integrated circuit. The company says these advanced products provide performance and cost advantages over conventional solutions.
