Among the latest offerings are an electronic design service from Global Display Solutions , information on the upcoming Society for Information Display conference and exhibition , a series of best practices workshops from Control Station , and an enhanced software application from Wonderware . Global Display Solutions Ltd. (GDS) has launched an Electronic Design Service to help customers design new display systems for specific projects. The goal of the service is to aid customers’ development of new products that reduce costs and improve quality and yields. The service ranges from turnkey product design and cost reduction developments to design with component obsolescence in mind. It ensures rapid prototyping from functional samples to production. GDS carries out all testing on end products and provides complete test summary reports to ensure proper functionality and quality prior to production release. The Society for Information Display (SID) has launched a special Website for its upcoming exhibition. The official site of the 2006 symposium, seminar, and exhibition will provide continual updates about the event, which will take place June 4-9, 2006, in San Francisco, CA. Current information includes hotels, maps, exhibitor list and floor plan, and key dates. Program information will be available at a later date.

 

Best-practices workshops from Control Station Inc. include PLC to HMI, a seminar that focuses on real-world application of proven techniques for improving control. Hosted by Business Industrial Network , PLC to HMI expands on the existing PLC Troubleshooting seminar for the maintenance of programmable logic controllers. Interactive, hands-on sessions use software tools to simulate real-world industrial processes. All workshops focus on industry best-practices for optimizing performance of PID controllers while maximizing plant profitability.

 

Wonderware’s enhanced Enterprise Integration Application 2.0 helps manufacturers improve operational performance by integrating diverse sets of manufacturing systems and business applications. Version 2.0 extends the library of pre-built integration templates to ease the integration of business applications that include middleware or computerized maintenance management systems. It also supports industry standards such as WBF B2MML and ISA-95. Built on Invensys’ ArchestrA software architecture, the application bridges the gap between the real-time domain of the plant floor and the transactional domain of business systems. It sits on top of existing multi-vendor plant-floor applications such as HMIs, historians, or manufacturing execution systems (MES). The software aligns business and manufacturing processes using powerful workflow functionality and transformation mappings configured in a non-programmatic environment to define reusable and maintainable integration solutions.
