Recent developments in the HMI field include a conference, a corporate agreement, and educational information on HMI topics.

  • International Display Research Conference (IDRC) will be held jointly with the new Society for Information Display OLED (organic light-emitting diode) business conference later this month. Scheduled for Sept.15-18 in Phoenix, the IDRC will be followed immediately Sept. 18-19 by the OLED displays conference. The two conferences were designed to be complementary (this year’s IDRC has an OLED focus), providing a week of industry-critical learning and high-level networking on this fast-growing display technology, its applications, and business opportunities.   • An agreement between Broadwin Technology Inc . and Omron Taiwan System Electronics Inc . is designed to provide sales, distribution, marketing, engineering, and technical support of WebAccess 4.0 HMI and SCADA software for the industrial automation and electronic control components markets in Taiwan. WebAccess 4.0 is Omron’s Web-browser based HMI and SCADA software for industrial automation. Using a standard Web browser, users can view real-time data and control automation equipment in manufacturing and process plants with full motion animation.

  • Wonderware ’s InTouch HMI software now supports the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system. InTouch HMI software is designed for industrial automation, process control, and supervisory monitoring environments. Both the standard and terminal services versions are included in the upgrade.
