Intag Systems creates new developer tools for USDATA's Xfactory 2.0

Richardson, Tex. - USDATA and Intag Systems (Seattle, Wash.), a manufacturing systems integrator, announced the availability of the xApplication Suite, a collection of tools for developers of USDATA's Xfactory 2.0 software.

Richardson, Tex. - USDATA and Intag Systems (Seattle, Wash.), a manufacturing systems integrator, announced the availability of the xApplication Suite, a collection of tools for developers of USDATA's Xfactory 2.0 software.

The xApplication Suite contains a variety of tools to automate custom development including:

objects that provide encapsulated access to Xfactory's production and configuration data;

functions for interfacing to Xfactory events; and

ActiveX controls for building a custom operator interface without writing any Visual Basic code.

'The xApplication Suite adds value to USDATA and to users of our Xfactory software by decreasing costs and providing more flexibility,' said Tim Davis, vice president of development and marketing, USDATA. 'Much of the success of our FactoryLink and Xfactory software products is based on leveraging applications created by our community of development partners.'

By using the xApplication Suite, developers can create custom WIP clients by dragging and dropping objects into a VB application.

'Development tools are essential to a broader adoption of manufacturing automation software, and the tools contained within xApplication make the adoption and implementation of manufacturing execution systems like Xfactory even more readily accessible. For example, when changes are needed to a custom WIP client, they can be done in just a few minutes,' said Jeff Smith, vice president of product development for Intag.
