The “Global 100” companies (by revenue) as listed by Manufacturing Business Technology include many firms strong in control engineering. ( MBT , like Control Engineering , is a Reed Business Information publication).

MBT ’s top 20 includes automation companies such as Emerson Process Management, ABB Automation, Siemens Energy & Automation, Rockwell Automation, and Invensys Process Systems. Others in the top 20 include technology providers widely used by control engineers, such as IBM, HP, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, and others.
