The devices are designed to avoid exterior arcing by energizing within a chamber to enhance electrical safety. These power lock devices incorporate a variety of safety features to reduce potential equipment damage in demanding applications. A spring loaded safety shutter is designed to eject the plug if it has not been properly locked into the connector or receptacle. The safety shutter is also engineered to contain and extinguish arcs and prevent the entrance of foreign matter. Other features include an ergonomic shape that enables a solid grip and helps reduce slippage and a nylon shell for durability. For reliable performance in harsh manufacturing environments, the power lock devices are available in standard configurations that meet IP30 ratings.
