Pressure sensors with CANopen interface, wide range

Baumer sensor product family offers very wide pressure range using piezoresistive measuring elements. Measuring range is from -1 to 1,000 bar (-14.5 to 14,500 psi). Overload capability is twice the operating maximum. See related resources.

New PDRJ and PDAJ sensor series from Baumer’s process instrumentation group offers rugged pressure sensors that communicate via the CANopen protocol and cover a measuring range from -1 to 1,000 bar (-14.5 to 14,500 psi). Overload capability is twice the operating maximum.

With an operating temperature range of -25 to 85 °C (-13 to 185 °F), the maximum total error is at 1% of full scale for the T-class and 0.3% for the S-class. Baumer says these measuring devices are suitable for complex systems over long distances or security-relevant, high-accuracy applications like engine test benches. The company cites sophisticated internal temperature compensation as a critical element of maintaining such high accuracy over a wide operating temperature range.

These devices use thin-film sensor technology combined with a transmitter that communicates via the CANopen protocol. Baumer suggests that they are suitable for challenging applications including agricultural machines, cranes, hydropower stations, waste water treatment plants, refineries, and other plants where several sensors are deployed over long distances.
