Variable-frequency ac drives for motor control

VariFlex Series of ac drives from Carlo Gavazzi is suitable for industrial motor control applications.

Buffalo Grove, IL —A new range of compact ac drives from Carlo Gavazzi handles most general-purpose three-phase industrial motor control applications from 1/3 to 5 hp. VariFlex Series lists the 10 most commonly used drive parameters on the front cover, sufficient for 90% of the applications. A remote keypad is also available.

Drives come in three frame sizes (A, B, and C) covering voltages from 180 to 528 V ac. The drives use universally accepted single- and three-phase supply voltages. Limited overall dimensions minimize required space within the electrical enclosure; widths measure less than 3 in. SmartStick custom memory stick simplifies multiple drive programming, allowing fast cloning of programming from one drive to others. Modbus capabilities are standard; various field options and PLC functionality are also available.
