Webcast: ‘The Roadmap to RoHS’

A live keynote interview on RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) will air Sept. 14, 2005, 11 a.m. EST, part of “ECN’S EOEM Design Conference & Exhibition Online.” ECN, a Reed Business Information publication, says the webcast will be available for archive viewing after-ward, as well. Participants are Aimee Kalnoskas, editor-in-chief, ECN Magazine, and Paul Tallentire, president, Newark inOne.

ECN says the Webcast aims to simplify the path to RoHS compliance. “Even if your company is exempt from the Restrictions on certain Hazardous Substances directive, the reality is that every-one who buys or uses components is impacted by it to some degree and must deal with its complexities.” Typically, ECN adds, a company will follow a four-step path to RoHS compliance.

1. Understand the directive and its impact on you;
2. Identifying which products are/will be compliant;
3. Purchase compliant products; and
4. Manage your RoHS inventory.

The presentation plans to address how to simplify each step on the path to compliance.
