MTL unveils surge protector, DIN rail mounting kit

Hampton, N.H. - MTL recently introduced its UL-approved MA15 Series surge protector with RFI filtering and its DRK700 DIN rail mounting kit for MTL700 Series zener barriers.

MA15 Series combines 18-k A surge protection with RFI filtering in one device to protect sophisticated electronic equipment against surges caused by lightning, switching devices, thyristor controls, transmission system overloads, power correction circuits and a range of other electrical noise sources. MA15 Series is a compact, DIN-rail mounted surge protection device that provides three-stage RFI filtering using a combination of surge clipping components to absorb transient surges; a filter to suppress electrical noise; and ring suppression to prevent surges that cause filters to oscillate during low load conditions.

DRK700 is a single-part assembly for mounting MTL700 Series barriers. Once clipped to the rail, existing MTL700 Series ground screw clamps the barrier in place and provides the intrinsically safe connection path to the DIN-rail foot. DRK700 eliminates the need for special grounding bars; allows a convenient and safe DIN-rail mounting; and provides a reduced hardware footprint.
