Courtesy: AutomationDirectAutomationDirect has expanded its Marathon AC motor line to include 0.5 to 5 HP Marathon Max+ series ac motors with an integrated encoder. The 230/460 VAC Max+ inverter-duty motors are designed to replace 90 and 180 volt Permanent Magnet dc (PMDC) systems and produce more torque per amp. Max+ series 1000:1 constant torque (TENV) motors can be used as replacements for multi-speed motors, single-phase motors, and as a variable speed upgrade for standard fixed speed motor systems. Applications for the Max+ ac electric motors include machine tools, conveyors, packaging machines, batching machines, printing equipment, pumps and fans.
