Phoenix Contact’s Thermofox is a handheld printer designed for small labeling projects in the field or around the industrial panel shop. Thermofox makes it easy to swap material cartridges for terminal block markers, shrink sleeves, self-laminating wire wraps, and indoor/outdoor vinyl tape. For power, the Thermofox accepts AA batteries or a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The user can label data manually or transfer a marking file from another device such as a PC or Phoenix Contact’s Thermomark Prime. Other features include a library of over 200 symbols, storage capacity of up to 20 files, barcode capability, and preprogrammed templates for patch panels and wire “flag” labels.

The continuous marking media are packaged with the matching ink ribbon in cartridge. The material length per cartridge varies from 1.8 m (6 ft) to 8 m (> 25 ft), depending on the material type. The indoor/outdoor adhesive vinyl tape comes in four sizes up to 24 mm and six colors. Available shrink sleeves are for conductor diameters up to 9.5 mm (12 AWG), and they are available in 3:1 and 2:1 shrink rates.
