ERP software suites are the "backbone" systems for today’s companies but, historically, users needed to be experts in navigating those systems to find the information they needed to do their jobs. With its Infor MyDay tool, ERP vendor Infor Global Solutions set out to fix this problem.
The result was a solution that garnered third place among products created by vendors in MBT’s 2009 Innovation Insight Awards competition.
Infor MyDay is a Web-based user interface that can serve as the entry point to any Infor application. In developing the solution, Infor identified more than 150 function-specific roles, and its developers logged thousands of hours researching customer usage needs and patterns. That’s how it developed the role-based interfaces, as well as the appropriate pre-built metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for specific user roles.
Announced at Infor’s user conference last fall, the MyDay interface is available for users of multiple Infor solutions, including:

Infor ERP Adage;

Infor ERP SyteLine;

Infor ERP VISUAL; and
-
Infor ERP LN.
According to Infor, more than 200 customers downloaded the MyDay software in its first five months of availability, with most of them quickly rolling it out to out to users.
One such company is Nomaco, a manufacturer of synthetic foam that uses the Infor Adage ERP system. MyDay gives its senior executives the exact metrics they need—at both the individual business unit and corporate levels—to keep the business running on track. Meanwhile, mid-level managers running operations inside the individual business units can quickly see statistics for their divisions. This ability to perform as an effective front-end for the vast amount of data handled by ERP is among the most impressive features of Infor MyDay.
