Explosion-proof electronic switches

United Electric Controls (UE) has added explosion-proof versions of its One Series line of digital electronic pressure switches and electronic temperature switches. Designed to meet the needs of harsh and hazardous applications, the One Series is available in explosion-proof pressure and temperature models for Division 1 (Zone 1) and Division 2 (Zone 2) areas.

UE’s One Series’ patented digital design requires extremely low-power, operating from residual PLC or DCS current.

With up to two adjustable set points and deadbands, available 4-20 mA analog output and no moving parts, the instruments can be used in many applications. Power options range from 2-wire discrete and analog loop-powered models to externally powered models for up to 280 V ac at 10 A to the load. With their integral digital displays and 4-20 mA output, switches in the series can replace a switch, gauge, and transmitter. They resist tampering, program intuitively, and set up easily, company says. They also provide a cost-effective solution for alarm and shutdown applications.

The switches never need calibration and have programmable adjustability and 0.1% repeatability. They can be integrated into a safety instrumented system (SIS) that requires self-diagnostic instruments. Other features include digital process display, programmable on-off, deadband adjusted 0.1% to 99.9% of range, plug port detection, nuisance trip filtering, Min/Max process values memory, and 2-wire and loop-powered models. Approvals include ATEX, CE, cULus and IECx. United Electric Controls www.ueonline.com
