San Leandro, CA— In support of SAP ’s adaptive manufacturing strategy for developing greater linkage between plant-floor systems and SAP’s enterprise-level solutions, OSIsoft Inc. , the provider of Real-time Performance Management (RtPM) software for the process manufacturing industries, has achieved ‘Powered by SAP NetWeaver’ certification from SAP. The RtPM platform facilitates condition-based maintenance, supporting real-time inventory updates and a sales and operations planning process.

OSIsoft’s RtPM business package components, including RtBaseline, RtAnalytics, and RtPortal, collectively gather, configure, and display relevant real-time information to the SAP NetWeaver platform through OSIsoft’s iView software, where it can be transformed and contextualized to address specific business roles within the SAP Enterprise Portal.

OSIsoft adds that applications certified as ‘Powered by SAP NetWeaver’ help speed access to enterprise information for plant floor engineers and operators and represent tighter integration of plant-level manufacturing systems with enterprise applications, facilitated by the SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI), a component of the SAP NetWeaver platform. SAP XI provides open integration among and between SAP solutions and applications from other vendors to enable the device, data, process, workflow, and end-user integration capabilities required to unify plant-level, corporate supply and demand-chain management.

Commenting on the eight-year relationship between OSIsoft and SAP, Michael Saucier, OSIsoft’s marketing VP, says the two companies’ work on this level of integration allows ‘manufacturers to achieve maximum value from their operations and business systems through integration of real-time data for access throughout the enterprise, including the ability to monitor deviations on a condition-based maintenance model, as opposed to merely calendar-based or time-based.’

OSIsoft claims to be the first SAP partner to use Microsoft .NET to achieve ‘Powered by SAP NetWeaver’ certification.
