ABB Industrial Systems (Rochester, N.Y.) merged its OCS and MES platformas into an object management framework, S. Zafar Kamal, director of MES Program Management at ABB, told Control Engineering editors here in August. The move to Microsoft-centric architecture also leverages extensive company experience connecting to the enterprise resource planning layer via SAP connections. ABB also discussed the second release of Advant Enterprise Historian, which enables keeping data in multiple locations with a single view to the user. ABB also released AdvaBatch 2.0.
