The Marriott Hotel in San Ramon, CA, played host to the first 2007 ABB Low Voltage Products Roadshow, on Feb. 21-22, where the company displayed more than 25 drive, instrumentation, process automation, and power products and solutions. Under the name “Results-Driven Power Control,” the user event is scheduled to tour major regional markets across the U.S.

More than 250 customers and prospects crowded into the venue on Customer Day and filled the technical workshops held throughout the event. These workshops offer training on automation-related topics ranging from UL and NEC standards, harmonic mitigation in industrial environments, PLC installations, and efficient, energy-saving, control-panel designs.

“Because the population of this market is so dense, there is a tremendous demand for pumping and fan applications, particularly in the water and wastewater industries,” noted Jim Hoyt, principal of Harold Wells Associates North, the ABB manufacturer’s representative based in northern California. “There also is light industry in this part of the state, with a concentration of heavier industry further north, serving the mining, paper, and timber industries. So the wide range of these products and automation solutions are ideal for this market.”

The show offers visitors a close-up look at low-voltage products, automation, control, and instrumentation solutions—and the chance to talk with product experts. ABB channel partners and industrial distributors, briefed on all that is new on the first day of the event, were on hand, to support customers and to introduce attendees to critical additions and expansions they can make to increase their applications’ productivity and efficiency.

The Roadshow next travels to metro areas in the Midwest, Northeast, and South. Visit their Website for a listing of all venues scheduled for 2007.
