AlterSys Inc. recently introduced Virgo 2000T version 1.0 for the Microsoft Windows CE 3.0 runtime engine. An extension of AlterSys’ Automation Software Suite, Virgo 2000 can help developers build deterministic embedded systems that can use Win32 tools already used to develop NT-based systems. Virgo 2000 will also allow developers to benefit from CE 3.0 components at the core of Microsoft DNA, including COM, DCOM, and others written for CE that are portable to NT systems. Virgo 2000 for CE will offer the same features as the current Virgo 2000 QNX-based runtime engine. In other news, AlterSys has agreed to integrate Canary Labs’ trending software components into Virgo 2000. Canary Labs’ software will provide trending capabilities required for accurate, effective process control.
