Adept Technology announces self-contained vision system

San Jose, CA – Adept Technology announced July 24 the introduction of the AdeptVision sAVI Inspection System. The AdeptVision sAVI Inspection System consists of the Adept SmartController CX with a vision interface board (AdeptVision sAVI), and vision toolbox including Adept’s locator tool, ObjectFinder 2000. The AdeptVision sAVI Inspection System is half the cost of Adept’s previous vision system with half the footprint, intended to make it easier to deploy.

‘Our customers demanded a compact, fully integrated vision inspection system,’ said Joe Campbell, vice president of marketing for Adept Technology. ‘The AdeptVision sAVI Inspection System is designed to deliver a world-class tool box for the most advanced vision applications at half the cost of Adept’s previous vision system.’

The AdeptVision sAVI Inspection System is a compact vision inspection system using contour detection technology to identify objects and patterns based on geometric shape, resulting in robustness to clutter, lighting variations, image degradations, andocclusions. The system also includes Adept AIM VisionWare applicationsoftware with a graphical programming environment, supporting quick programming development and interfacing to cell I/O and factory information systems. Adept V+ real-time, multi-tasking operating system can handle up to 28 simultaneous program tasks, and can be upgraded to handle robots and other motion devices.
