Mansfield, MA – Axeda Systems Inc . announced September 10 Axeda DRM 3, the third-generation of its device relationship management (DRM) product. Release 3 expands the diagnosis and repair, reporting, performance, connectivity, and security features of its DRM system.
”Our third-generation system, Axeda DRM 3, synthesizes the wealth of real-world usage feedback we have received from our growing customer base into a groundbreaking release,” said Dale Calder, president of Axeda Systems.
”We believe Axeda DRM 3 sets the standard by which all other solutions will be judged in the DRM market.” ”We have chosen to implement Axeda DRM 3 because it provides the breadth and depth of capability we need to deploy remote usage monitoring and service of printers, copiers, and multifunction devices on a wide scale,” said Michael Chai, vice president of Advanced Enterprise Systems, Electronics for Imaging, the world leader in software and hardware imaging solutions for network printing. ”DRM capability will enable us to offer new products and create new business models for our customers, giving them a significant competitive advantage.”
The Axeda DRM system is a distributed software solution that enables manufacturers and service providers to utilize the Internet to remotely monitor, manage, and service intelligent devices such as instruments, equipment, machines, appliances, facilities, computers, and more. The system utilizes Axeda Agents to collect data and events from field devices and forward them via the company’s patent-pending ”Firewall-Friendly” technology to the Axeda Enterprise server. This application stores, processes, and manages this data and then feeds results to other software systems or to Axeda Applications used by customer service personnel to access devices and their data.
This version features a new user interface design that simplifies analysis of device information enabling managers and technicians to focus through multiple diagnosis views of both live and historical data.
The Axeda Enterprise server provides a centralized, scalable data and asset management system that provides proactive fault detection, reporting and analysis, and device and access control in a securely managed enterprise environment. It includes a new reporting engine that brings device intelligence to decision makers. Reports are accessed through Axeda Applications, and can be output to the Web, Adobe Acrobat, or Microsoft Excel.
Axeda Agents control the device side of the system, providing modular software servers that can be embedded in or attached to devices for monitoring, communications, and control of device data and events in real time. All three members of the Axeda Agent family, Axeda Connector, Axeda Gateway, and Axeda Supervisor, have been enhanced with support of a range of popular proxy servers, advanced SSL data encryption and authentication, improved customization without programming, and auto-discovery and monitoring of SNMP-enabled devices.
