Nashville, Tenn. – WebDock’s DataSync allows an easy method to synchronize the internal clocks of Rockwell programmable controllers through the RSLinx software package. The software is immediately available for delivery from the WebDock website and has a tiered pricing structure starting at (US)$600. Daylight savings time, power outages, or maintenance activities on isolated controllers can all cause variances in the internal clocks of a facility’s controllers. These variances can show up on reports or cause other problems. Previously the internal clock for the controllers had to be set individually and it was very difficult to match the internal clocks in each and every controller. DataSync simplifies the task of updating and monitoring the controller’s internal clocks by automating it.

WebDock DataSync software works with RSLinx to connect to Rockwell’s Allen-Bradley PLC-5’s and SLC-500’s and synchronize the controllers’ internal clocks. A wizard guides users through configuration of the package from selecting the controllers to be synchronized to setting up the synchronization schedule. The synchronization trigger can be scheduled as frequently as daily or less often if desired. When triggered, all of the selected controller’s internal clocks are time/date synchronized with the system clock of the computer running DataSync. DataSync also has a built in web server that allows remote monitoring of the current and historical time/date settings in the controllers and the synchronization schedule.

WebDock engineers, designs, installs, and maintains information and automation systems for manufacturing companies. The company specializes in developing software products and integration services for data collection and data management in the manufacturing environment.
