Compact microstepping drive for medical machine, laboratory automation
MDrive14Plus products are capable of full microstepping, says Intelligent Motion Systems.
Marlborough, CT – The MDrive product line from Intelligent Motion Systems doubles the performance of the company’s smallest and lowest cost all-in-one motion control products with the addition of a NEMA size 14 triple-stack motor option. MDrive14Plus is capable of full (256 x 200) microstepping with a +12 to +48 V dc integrated driver . Smoothness and performance is achieved by applying innovative techniques to control current flow through the motor so that resonance is significantly dampened over the speed range and audible noise reduced.MDrive14Plus products integrate a NEMA size 14 brushless 1.8-degree stepping motor with electronics for an ultra-compact motion control solution for applications with limited space. Measuring 2 in. high x 1.4 in. wide, lengths are 2 in. for a single motor or 3 in. for a triple motor, which also provides twice the motor holding torque at 36 oz-in.According to Max Wietharn, IMS vice president of sales and marketing, “The MDrive14Plus can reduce size, cost and complexity in a wide range of motion control applications without compromising functionality.” He characterized it as a compact solution where machine space is limited such as in medical, biomedical, clinical chemistry, and lab automation.
