Burgaw, N.C. —Electromagnetic interference (EMI) can cause multiple problems in electronic equipment. EMI Series multipole connectors meet the European EMC Directive for resistance to EMI. The family of connectors is available in 6-, 10-, 16-, and 24-pole configurations. The connectors consist of a hood and a base, the latter accepting inserts with screw-, crimp-, or spring-clamp-wiring terminations. EMI shielding is done for both incoming and mating connections. A silver-plated lamellar insert is mounted in the base so that a continuous metal-to-metal EMI shield is formed when the connector is mated. EMI-resistant cable glands are provided for the wire entry. The assembly is IP65 rated (dust-tight and washdown).
