Control Engineering: Continuing 20 years of recognizing product excellence
After spotlighting the industry’s best products for 20 years, Control Engineering is revising the process and timeline for its 2006 product awards. The Editors’ Choice Awards, previously scheduled for publication in January 2006, are migrating to April 2007 and becoming the Engineers’ Choice Awards.
Eligible products are those introduced in North America and available for purchase between December 1, 2005, and December 31, 2006, in the areas that Control Engineering covers:
Process and advanced control;
Machine and embedded control;
Motors, drives, and motion control;
Human-machine interfaces and industrial PCs;
Instrumentation and control components;
Application and programming software;
Networks and communications hardware and software.
Following the success of the first System Integrator of the Year awards (see the Automation Integrator Guide , mailed with the December 2006 issue), Control Engineering ’s Engineers’ Choice Awards will use a no-fee nomination/application process. Products will be judged on three criteria: technological advancement, market impact, and service to the industry.
Applications are available online at
www.controleng.com/awards
and are due Jan. 30, 2007. Any number of products may be entered, but each must be submitted (with photo) on a separate application by the deadline. Awards will be announced in April. Multiple awards may be granted in categories and subcategories.
