Rockford, Ill.—Pacific Scientific will partner with Atlas Copco Controls (Stockholm, Sweden) to provide solutions to the worldwide motion controls industry.
This joint effort follows Altas Copco Controls’ acquisition by Danaher Corp. (Washington, D.C.), which is also Pacific Scientific’s parent company. Atlas Copco Controls had been a division of Sweden-based Atlas Copco, an international group of industrial companies. Danaher was expected to complete its purchase in September 1999.
Atlas Copco Controls manufacturers motion control and machine automation systems, drive systems, and motors. Its products are used in applications, such as plastic and metal processing, material handling, packaging, textile production, robotics, and lift trucks. Its key products include multi-axis control systems, servo drives, PC-based automation systems, electric vehicle drives, and engineered drives systems.
“Pacific Scientific’s high-performance motors nicely complement our own products,” says MatsÖnner, Atlas Copco Controls’ gm. “But most importantly, we’re pleased to partner with Pacific Scientific’s distributor network to bring our products to the U.S. market.”
Bill Fejes, Pacific Scientific’s president, adds his company will benefit from Atlas Copco Controls’ presence in Europe and U.S. users will benefit from access to Atlas Copco Controls products.
