Emerson introduces Coriolis flow controller, transmitter
Brooks Instrument Quantim Coriolis family of products from Emerson Process Management offers precise measurement and control of liquids and gases at lower and higher flow rates.
Brooks Instrument Quantim Coriolis family of products from Emerson Process Management offers precise measurement and control of liquids and gases at lower and higher flow rates. Modular hardware platform uses improved sensing tube geometries and optical sensing techniques to enable Quantim to handle both liquids and gases. It lets the products measure and control flows as low as one and as high as 28,000 gph. Improved zero-stability yields better overall accuracy at the low end of the flow range. Coriolis mass flow controller features a new valve with a larger orifice that tolerates variations in line pressures and reduces clogging. All-metal valve seat minimizes any control issues associated with elastomer valve seat compatibility and swelling.
Products introduced by Emerson Process Management include Brooks InstrumentQuantim Coriolis mass flow controller (left) and Micro Motion Coriolis transmitter.
Integrating Coriolis meters into Emerson’s PlantWeb digital plant architecture, PLC (programmable logic controller) systems, and distributed control systems has been simplified by a new Coriolis transmitter from the company’s Micro Motion division . Model 1500 MVD, featuring multivariable digital signal processing, fits easily into control room panels, and has a simple 4-wire connection to the sensor for power and signal. No custom cables need to be run, no separate power source needs to be provided at the sensor. Transmitter also provides milliamp and frequency outputs for direct mass and volumetric flow measurement and allows easy monitoring of density, temperature, flow totals, and other meter diagnostics.
