IntraVue 2.0 from Network Vision enables easy visualization of devices to identify device failures or intermittent or poor performance.

IntraVue version 2.0 from Network Vision adds features to focus on automating diagnostics to improve asset management. The software supports industrial devices communicating over Ethernet.

New release includes data mining features to sort, synthesize, and organize the communication status of industrial Ethernet devices allowing immediate identification of problems. The company’s four-year history, says the developer, gives it “a unique ability to understand plant floor problems” and optimize how the software interprets the data to provide useful information to the control technician.

According to the company, the new edition offers a “100X improvement in performance.” In addition to offering full support of multiple Cisco VLANs, the package provides such enhanced diagnostics as:

Reporting of duplicate IP and MAC addresses;

Multiple threshold trending graphs;

Disconnection timing diagram;

Interactive event log to device position; and

Broadcast storm identifier.

IntraVue is designed to map all connected industrial devices accurately and continually and show their status on one display. Live view provides visualization of how devices are communicating and provides a simple graphical overview from which problems can be resolved. It is reported to be an easy-to-use tool for those who are not network experts to identify communication problems with industrial devices communicating over Ethernet.

The initial offering of IntraVue was announced exclusively in Control Engineering four years ago ( January 2003 issue ).
