Gas pressure control system controls line pressures better

Marshalltown, Ia . — Emerson Process Management’s regulatory division recently introduced GridBoss Gas Pressure Control and Management System, to provide gas utility companies better control of line pressures. Using a low pressure point controller, GridBoss gathers pressure data and transmits the data to the district regulator controller where an adaptive/predictive algorithm develops setpoint profiles based on time of day and ambient temperature to adjust the district regulator actuator or servo valve in anticipation of gas demands. Working in tandem, the low-pressure point and district regulator controller maintain the low pressure point within a specified deadband.
