On the new products horizon this month are a variety of offerings related to human-machine interface (HMI). Included are an updated version of Parker Automation-CTC ’s InteractX HMI system, customizable operator interface systems from Rittal , high-brightness LCDs from Global Display Solutions , and a button-style pointing device from CTI Electronics . Following are more details about and illustrations of these products, along with links to the manufacturers’ Web sites.
VIP 6000 operator interface systems from Rittal Corp. provide configurable solutions for industrial control applications. |
InteractX 1.91 is a new iteration of Parker Automation-CTC ’s OEM-friendly HMI system. Software runs in Microsoft Windows on any office or industrial PC. Designed specifically for machine control and OEM needs, the product offers advanced graphics, ease of application, reliability, and lower long-term costs of ownership. Latest version includes ActiveX tool enhancements, a boost in runtime performance, and more than 20 updates to the free communications drivers that accompany every system. A key feature is the system’s ability to run MachineLogic for Windows Slot Card, CTC’s deterministic PC-based control solution that includes OPC server capability. Existing users may upgrade easily using the installation wizard and at no cost, the company says.
Range of industrial LCDs from Global Display Solutions includes an optically enhanced LCD for maximum brightness and contrast. |
VIP 6000 operator interface systems from Rittal can be tailored to customer specifications through the company’s “build-to-order” system. Series offers protection for CRTs, flat-panel displays, keyboards, or other control elements and provides optimum ergonomic conditions for operators. Users can choose from a variety of cross mullions, keyboard housings, trim strips and colors, equipment and mouse pad shelves, support arms, pedestals, and cable duct connections. With an appropriate front panel, the system can be cUL approved and NEMA 12/IP65 rated. Industrial LCDs from Global Display Solutions are intended for use in various industries, such as process, kiosk, and transport. Range of products features 18 new units including high-brightness Mitra panels, Morpheus monitors, and optically enhanced LCDs for maximum brightness and contrast. They are available in sizes from 6.4 in. to 19 in. Newest addition, the optically enhanced unit, minimizes internal reflections and refractions and is, says the manufacturer, on average, three-times brighter than the brightest TFT-LCD on the market.
