ISA releases online demo of CAP learning system

Research Triangle Park, NC — ISA , the Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society, has released a fully operational, free online demo of its Certified Automation Professional (CAP) learning system. System is a comprehensive CAP exam preparation and professional development tool.

Program combines printed textbooks with online review and testing tools to provide automation training. Learning system includes comprehensive print materials, including seven textbooks covering the CAP body of knowledge and the seven technical topics covered on the exam.

A second component of the system is an online learning module that focuses on review and testing. A test bank of 500 multiple-choice questions and a pre-test help applicants determine strengths and weaknesses. Users can create a customized study plan based on individual need. Tests at the end of each module give immediate feedback, answer rationales, and reference to relevant sections in the text. A timed post-test is designed to emulate the computer-based CAP exam.

The system is “based on comprehensive content developed by ISA experts,” and “focuses on efficient preparation for the CAP exam,” said Dale Lee, ISA director of certification services.
