Hatfield, Pa.— Brooks Instrumentation has introduced Quantim, a device intended for low flow (less than 1,000 gal/hr) applications. The device uses the Coriolis principle. According to its developer, it’s the first time this technology has been introduced to the low-flow market. Quantim is said to offer several advantages over traditional inferred mass technologies, including better precision, immunity to process conditions, improved reliably, and wide application flexibility. Accuracy exceeds 0.5%, regardless of the fluid being measured; and because the device measures actual, rather than inferred, mass no calibration is necessary. It is immune to variations in temperature, viscosity, pressure, or flow and offers a straight-through path that eliminates unnecessary downtime or maintenance.
