Near infrared analyzer platform helps optimize process
Food and beverage manufacturing system from system integrator helps improve quality, reduce waste.
Process Optimizer Version 4.0 from ESE was unveiled at the IFT Food Expo last month in Anaheim, CA. Working with its Q5 near infrared analyzers, the system can test and measure constituents in food and beverage products.

The new version is available now in beta release with the final edition coming out this fall. Associated Milk Producers (AMPI), a dairy marketing cooperative, will be among the first beta customers to use the software. The group operates manufacturing sites in six Midwestern states and will test the software at its Portage, WI location.
Donald Weideman, plant manager from AMPI says, "our mission is to maximize the return on milk marketed and equity invested. Process Optimizer 4.0 helps us do that by providing test results and data that enable us to manage our operations more tightly. By participating in this beta test, we will gain better reporting tools to help drive our business forward."
ESE says the new features include an upgrade to Microsoft SQL 2005 to make daily database management more configurable, effective, and efficient. The software also includes SQL Reporting Services, which enables ESE customers to extract business data and create reports quickly and effectively, to help manage their daily operations, company says.

"This beta release of Process Optimizer Version 4.0 will address our customers need for better reporting and analytics capabilities in our application. Results from the Q5 analyzers and Process Optimizer platform can be viewed via a larger control system or local HMI so operators can identify when there is a change in the process. Historical results are available for reports and exporting to other applications for analysis and decision making. Process calibration models can be updated if products or constituents change over time.
Recognition by Rockwell Automation
In separate news, ESE Inc. was recognized by Rockwell Automation for its Qualified Process Solutions Provider Program, after a review process by Rockwell Automation where an integrator’s application and domain expertise is validated using a competency evaluation. The Rockwell Automation Qualified Process Solutions Provider program has recognized just 15 companies globally thus far, with a goal to have 100 process providers representing 10 industries by the end of the year, Rockwell says.
