Omron donates 100 million yen to aid tsunami victims, repair damage
Kyoto, Japan—Omron Corp. reports that it's donating 100 million yen through the Japan Community for UNICEF for victims of the Asian tsunami, which followed Dec. 26's earthquake beneath the Indian Ocean near Indonesia.
Kyoto, Japan— Omron Corp. reports that it’s donating 100 million yen through the Japan Community for UNICEF for victims of the Asian tsunami, which followed Dec. 26’s earthquake beneath the Indian Ocean near Indonesia. Additional pledges from local Omron offices and affiliated companies also will be donated through the Japan Community for UNICEF.
Omron states that 21st century companies not only realize public responsibility through business activities, but also through compliance with applicable laws, through ethical activities, and by protecting the environment, among many other activities. In other words, Omron says companies are required to realize a wide range of public responsibility from a global perspective.
The firm adds it has firmly positioned its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in the 2nd stage of its Grand Design 2010 (GD2010), which is Omron s long-term management vision and plan. In this stage, OMRON is working to encourage all employees, divisions and companies to understand CSR with a global view, and to adapt CSR into their daily activities.
