TransPort PT878GC, shown at ISA 2004, was said to be the only clamp-on portable flow-meter for ultrasonic gas-flow measurement at the time of April introduction. It measures gas flow rates, logs data to internal memory, and exports flow data to a computer. It’s designed for natural gas pipelines, compressed air, inert gas, or compressed gas applications, in pipe sizes 4-24 in. dia., as low as 60 psig pressure, especially for erosive, corrosive, toxic, high-purity, or sterile gases. It has no moving parts, works for 8 hours on battery power, causes no pressure drop, and has wide turndown.
