AST (American Sensor Technologies, Inc.) has introduced its model AST 4800, a new line of miniature pressure transducers for a wide variety of applications in crowded areas. The stainless steel housing is less than 2 in. long by 0.7 in. diameter. With a pressure range beginning at 0-500 psi (0-34.5 bar) and as high as 0-10,000 psi (0-690 bar) these are particularly suited to demanding applications such as hydraulic systems.
AST features its patented krystal bond technology, which diffuses inorganic materials directly into the surface of a one-piece stainless steel sensing element. The company says this eliminates internal seals and lubricants to ensure long life and compatibility with the widest possible variety of process liquids and gasses.
The AST 4800 family operates at temperatures from 4 to 220 °F (-20 to 105 °C). Standard output is 10 mV/V, with cables from 2 to 10 feet long.
