Pressure sensor: New design compensates for challenging environments
Device designed for high accuracy in difficult applications.
American Sensor Technologies (AST) has released its new digitally compensated, CE approved, AST20HA high accuracy pressure transducer, to complement its existing OEM and hazardous area pressure sensing products.
AST says this model is intended for applications requiring high performance over a wide range of operating conditions, such as test stands, hydrogen filling stations, medical laboratories, and military and aerospace equipment. The AST20HA’s design features low operating strain on the diaphragm and real time thermal compensation and linearity correction to providing stability in dynamic temperature environments that are hard on sensors. Its one piece stainless steel construction eliminates the need for internal o-rings, so elastomer media compatibility questions are eliminated as well.
The family operates in a temperature range of -40 to 185 °F (-40 to 85 °C) and offers pressure ranges from 0-25 psi to 0-10,000 psi (0-1.75 bar and 0-670 bar). Output options include: 4-20 mA, 1-5 V, 1-10 V, and 0.5-4.5V ratiometric.
