The Beamex MC5 is said to be the world’s first fieldbus calibrator. |
Whether you use Profibus PA, FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1, or HART, the Beamex MC5 Fieldbus Calibrator will be a helpful diagnostic tool for network communication and instrumentation.
The all-in-one package reportedly offers many useful maintenance functions:
-
Calibrate and configure fieldbus transmitters;
-
One-person fieldbus calibration, even before the network is operational;
-
Calibration capabilities for pressure, temperature, electrical, and frequency signals;
-
HART communication; and,
-
Configure and trim instrument transmitters.
“The introduction of a portable fieldbus calibrator is one of the biggest things that has happened in the calibration market for many years,” says Beamex managing director, Raimo Ahola. The MC5 can simultaneously simulate a transmitter input and read the output to detect and quantify error. Calibrations are traceable using built-in documentation functions capable of downloading results to a computer or printer. Optional add-on modules extend its range and capabilities for more complex functions.
With its IP65-rated dust and waterproof housing, combined with 10 hour average battery life, the MC5, Beamex says, is ready for daily use in the most rugged environments. The MC5-IS model is intrinsically safe for hazardous duty.
