ITT Industries, Cannon offers new two- and four- way QSA series switches, designed for long life, excellent tactile feedback and silent operation for use in many applications, for products with low current demands of 1-50 mA. (Other switches have “a very noisy action,” ITT says.)
QSA2 and QSA4 switches feature an actuation force of 3.5N +/- 1N with a force delta of greater than 0.5N and a return force of 1N. Operational life is 100,000 operations. At 21x16x22.4 mm, these surface-mount switches can operate in either the X or Y axis. The actuator is on a 3.5 mm diameter operating axis with a button fastener. Maximum switching power is 0.2 VA, while operating temperature range is -40 to +85 °C. Cost is around $1.30 in 100,000 piece range.
ITT Industries, Cannon, based in Newton, MA, is an international supplier of connectors, interconnects, cable assemblies, switches, dome arrays, keypads, multi-function grips, panel switch assemblies, I/O card kits, smart card systems LAN components, and high-speed/high-bandwidth network systems and services.
