Rockwell will sell AdaptaScan

Fulfilling a commitment to focus on core competencies, Rockwell Automation announced Feb. 15 it will sell its Allen-Bradley AdaptaScan line of bar-code scanning products to Accu-Sort Systems Inc. (Telford, Pa.). The company will join Rockwell Automation's Encompass program to help it provide continuing support to AdaptaScan customers.

Milwaukee, Wis. — Fulfilling a commitment to focus on core competencies, Rockwell Automation announced Feb. 15 it will sell its Allen-Bradley AdaptaScan line of bar-code scanning products to Accu-Sort Systems Inc. (Telford, Pa.). The company will join Rockwell Automation’s Encompass program to help it provide continuing support to AdaptaScan customers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. No staffing changes are immediately expected at Accu-Sort, although gradual additions will occur as the firm gears up for production. Staffing changes at Rockwell Automation were not disclosed. Completion of the sale will take place over the next several months with Accu-Sort assuming full ownership and rights to the AdaptaScan line and brand by Oct. 1, 1999.
