San Jose, Calif. —Designed specifically for high operational shock and low power consumption, these 2.5-in. IDE silicon drives contain no moving parts and do not require constant power to retain information. Capable of surviving 1,000 Gs of shock (equivalent to dropping 8-ft. onto a hard surface), and providing 500,000 hr MTBF makes the silicon drive especially suited for industrial applications. Designed to swap-out with existing hard drives, these drives are available in 4 to 160 MB sizes, and provide ATA bus transfer rates of 8.0 MB/sec (read/write) with a media transfer rate of 3.5 MB/sec for reading and 0.71 MB/sec for writing.
