Goleta, CA—BEI Industrial Encoders introduced the ES encoder series , which are environmentally sealed encoders designed specifically for harsh industrial applications. Through the use of a magnetic hub, these rugged incremental encoders are completely enclosed and sealed. The hub is installed on the equipment’s mating shaft, leaving a small air gap between it and the encoder. This isolates the encoder from high shock and vibration and makes them highly tolerant of shaft misalignment.

BEI Industrial Encoders offers ES environmentally sealed encoders for harsh industrial applications.

The company says the encoders, with an IP67 rating, are protected from environmental fluids, dust, dirt, grime, and water immersions. Environmentally sealed encoders are ideal for applications with heavy wash-downs, temporary water immersions, and excessive shock, vibration or environmental debris. The ES series combines accuracy, repeatability, and robustness needed for use in harsh environments and can help reduce costly system downtime.
