Sense velocity from a distance

Lake Success, NY —For non-contact velocity measurements of moving or rotating objects for in-line manufacturing processes, check out laser Doppler velocity (LDV) sensors P-50Z and P-20Z from Canon. These LDV sensors can also measure flow rates of liquids and fluids. P-50Z features a velocity range up to 5,000 mm/sec, while P-20Z's range is up to 120 mm/sec.

Both systems use a 680 nm semiconductor-based laser with dual convergent beams to measure materials with as low as 20% reflectivity.
