Touch panel computer operates on low power
A fanless 12.1-in. touch panel computer from the Industrial Automation Group of Advantech features a powerful yet low-power consumption Intel Pentium M 1.4 GHz / Celeron M 1GHz processor. The TPC-1270H is fanless to improve maintenance-free operation, but powerful enough to support full Microsoft Windows operating systems such as XP Professional, as well as embedded systems such as Microsoft Windows XPe.

Standard mass storage media is non-rotating CompactFlash. Higher storage capacity can be added with an HDD. Other features include: 1x 10/100Base-T and 1x 10/100/1000Base-T LAN, 3x RS-232 and 1x RS-232/485/422 serial ports, 4x USB 2.0 serial ports, and 1x video graphics array (VGA) port.
A version of the Advantech touchpanel computer with 2x 10/100Base-T LAN ports is available.
The design is suitable for human-machine interface (HMI) platforms for most automation applications in any critical environment. Prices start at $1,695.
