Menlo Park, Calif.— MoniTrace 200N heat tracing control and monitoring system is said to lower installation and maintenance costs and improve reliability of electrical heat tracing systems. Intended for industrial use, the system is capable of controlling one or two groups of circuits for temperature maintenance and freeze protection. MoniTrace 200N senses ambient temperature and energizes heating cables to match and offset piping heat loss. The controller automatically establishes and varies the cycle time for energizing heating cables by comparing actual ambient temperature with operator settings for minimum ambient temperature and the desired temperature. Cycle time is calculated using a preprogrammed algorithm. Temperature setpoints range from–7 to 204 °C. Feedback provides location of suspected trouble spots.
