D-Epic control transmitter from Westlock Controls is a 4-20 mA, HART-enabled non-contact device that reportedly eliminates position blind spots during the stroke of a valve by supplying continuous feedback of rotary or linear valve position. Transmitter features an integrated, low-power solenoid to control and monitor discrete valves and integrated PST functionality. Product is said to be a cost-effective alternative to positioners for safety instrumented system applications. It is available in low copper content aluminum, 316 stainless steel, or engineered resin enclosures.
