Valve diagnostics provide green-yellow-red light indicator

Emerson Process Management’s Fisher division recently added “green-yellow-red light” performance diagnostics capability to its Fieldvue digital valve controller.

Using Emerson’s AMS (asset management software) device manager with its ValveLink snap-on application, Fieldvue performance diagnostics detects emerging valve conditions that could eventually lead to valve failure.

Users can instruct the AMS ValveLink software to automatically run several online performance diagnostics tests designed to detect more than 200 fault conditions. When testing is complete, the software pinpoints problems, shows possible causes, and provides recommended corrective actions.

The health of the valve under test is graphically indicated using a green, yellow, or red indicator.
