Wonderware, Contec to market Windows CE software

Wonderware Corp. and Contec Corp. (Osaka, Japan) agreed Dec. 7 to market Wonderware's Microsoft Windows CE-based embedded control and visualization products on Contec's CE-based industrial automation hardware platforms. The companies will embed Wonderware's InControl Runtime Engine in Contec's new line of Windows CE-based industrial controller hardware platforms.

Wonderware Corp. and Contec Corp. (Osaka, Japan) agreed Dec. 7 to market Wonderware’s Microsoft Windows CE-based embedded control and visualization products on Contec’s CE-based industrial automation hardware platforms. The companies will embed Wonderware’s InControl Runtime Engine in Contec’s new line of Windows CE-based industrial controller hardware platforms. The firms also agreed to embed both Wonderware’s now-in-development, CE-based View Engine and InControl Runtime Engine in Contec’s new CE-based flat panel line. Wonderware will also provide corresponding Windows NT-based control and visualization configuration software. These new controller products will be launched in spring 1999, while the CE visualization product will be released in early 2000.
